About 5 years ago, I came across the first pictures of this beautiful riad, well hidden in the heart of the old medina of Marrakech.
Sometimes a picture tells a thousand words. Sometimes, a picture also tells a lot of lies. Like photos that are not updated or in an angle that one might think 'what the... '. Maintenance that is outdated. Change in management or crew that makes all the difference in either way...
So last month, just to be sure, I kind of surprised this hotel with a quick visit. I can only confirm that reality is as stunning as it looks on the photos.
The staff really goes out of their way to make you feel at home.
Most of them are part of the team for almost 15 years. They are the heart of the home and their enthusiasm reflects on the clients. They know what it takes. Especially in Marrakech after a hectic day when one got lost too many times.
An almost 15 years old beauty that proofs: good design really has no age.
Riad Dar Assoura is still going strong. The decoration is ethnic minimalism, the kitchen among (if not) the most beautiful I've seen here in Marrakech.
